Kallansillat

Five years lasting upgrading of Kallansillat project was completed in 2014. Between Päiväranta and Vuorela there is a highway now. In addition, a parallel road was built as well as pedestrian and cycle paths. The project also improved rail alignment, connections to Kuopio Airport and the conditions for smooth water traffic.

All in all, the project included building 17 new bridges, repairing nine and taking down eight old bridges. Soil and rock masses have been transferred more than two million cubic meters.
